REQUEST A DRIVER
HOW DOES SOMEONE BECOME A CLIENT OF CARE FARNHAM?
- One of our Trustees looks after taking on new clients. Please ring our phone line (01252 71 66 55) and ask the Duty Officer of the day to put you on the list to be contacted by Jenny.
ONCE I BECOME A CLIENT, HOW DO I REQUEST A DRIVE ?
- Our phone line (01252 71 66 55) is open from Monday to Friday each week from 10 am to 1 pm, manned by a friendly Duty Officer. We like to have 2-10 days notice. If we have less notice, we will try our best to find you a driver but it might not always be possible. Our journeys are return ones (unless you ask for a one-way drive).
WHO CAN USE CARE FARNHAM?
- Anyone able to get in and out of a car with minimal assistance, who lives within the Farnham town boundary and who is unable to use public transport or whose relatives and neighbours are unable to assist them. Jenny will discuss any particular mobility needs when she speaks to a prospective client.
WHERE WILL CARE FARNHAM TAKE CLIENTS TO?
- Most of our journeys are to local GP surgeries, to Farnham Centre for Health, Frimley Park, the Royal Surrey, Fleet and Haslemere Hospitals; also further afield to St. Peter’s Chertsey, St. George’s Tooting and the Royal Marsden Hospitals. We can consider further destinations, but these depend on the availability of our drivers who do those longer-distance drives and may need discussion with the Trustees.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST THE CLIENT?
- CARE Farnham only ask for voluntary contributions to cover the driver’s costs. The Duty Officer can advise you of suggested donations, e.g. £5 for Farnham trips, £10 for Aldershot or Fleet trips, £15 for Frimley Park or Royal Surrey hospital trips, and larger amounts depending on destination. You can ask for guidance on donations when you make the booking. At the end of each journey the driver will give the client a small envelope for them to put in their contribution.
